It gets better! The biggest champion of our little show stars in this movie. She is a woman who endlessly inspires us here at Clit Talk. She’s a vocal advocate for the LGBTQ community, a health warrior with her non-profit Cancer Schmancer, and she plays the most loving mother in the movie The Christmas Setup. 

Please welcome TV icon, Fran Drescher! Fran stars in the highly-anticipated new Lifetime movie – The Christmas Setup – the network’s first holiday movie with a LGBTQ romance as its lead storyline.

We have this saying that’s stuck with us recently…

“the future is fluid.”

This movie is one of the first main-stream movies that has a visual representation of what a healthy family looks like when one of their children is gay.  Fran shares how this holiday RomCom is going to inspire people to be more open to what love can look like. 

Fran mother’d the whole cast and her two movie children - one of who is straight and one is gay. She plays a loving mother in the movie…and played a mother of sorts to the tight-knit cast on set while shooting the movie: Ben Lewis, Blake Lee, Ellen Wong and Chad Connell.

Since her battle with endometrial cancer, her babies have really become her non-profit organization Cancer Schmancer. Cancer Schmancer’s mission is to save lives by transforming the nation’s current sick care system into one that focuses on genuine health care. They accomplish this with a three-pronged approach: prevention, detection, and policy change.
