EP 96 Giving Up The Timeline: Why Your Expectations Are Holding You Hostage
I’d Rather Be Whole Than Good
Do you really know who you are? It’s a tad early in the week to ask a question like that but after a long and oddly interesting V-Day weekend, I’m feeling reflective. Vaginas are not the only topic discussed here. Yes, this podcast does talk about private parts and experiencing pleasure with them but my dear listener, we here at Clit Talk want to check in with all of you. How's life? More specifically, are you are you still doing things you love, or have they been gathering dust because others expect you to be a certain way?
It’s safe to say that most of us have made compromises in order for a relationship to work. There is a whole other person to consider when making decisions. That being said, our partner(s) are meant to be a part of our life, not our entire world. What’s difficult, is that sometimes we end up sacrificing more than we intended and if things don’t work out, we end up searching for whatever is left of our identity.
This week Lindsey shares with us how her unmet expectations gave her clarity and the guts to follow her road to a happy life. What she defines as a happy life could look very different from someone else’s. However, in order to follow our own path, we must first KNOW who we are and what we want that path to lead to.
After listening to this week’s episode, I encourage you to reflect on the following questions again. Do you know who you are and what you want and does your life reflect that? Is there something you want to do or go after that has been pushed aside because it’s not what you should be doing? If you’re already woke and all that jazz, what did following your path look like? Did you have to learn any hard lessons in order to keep going?
