EP166 Pride Month 2021!

The Global Director of MAC Cosmetics Gregory Arlt and his Love Jon Lieckfelt, Celebrity Makeup Artist and Creator of the Show LieckMinded Share They’re Coming Out Stories and What Pride Really Means Queens

Cliterati! Pride Month has never been celebrated in a more mainstream way!

If you haven’t been living under a rock, you’ve seen every network from the PBS documentary on LGBTQ+ Seniors Go To Prom to 'Madagascar' Introducing a Nonbinary Character, to the Today Show showcasing How the Dresscode Project is improving salon experiences for LGBTQ people. We all get to stand united and experience pure joy while normalizing the spectrum of the entire rainbow.

For today, you know we bring on badass people to share their personal stories? Well, we have two gay. Infamous. Fabulous. men in the studio today!! Have you ever heard of M•A•C cosmetics? No big deal, one of them is the Global Director. The other is a master at bringing out the true, authentic essence of his famous clients - which is more than make, hair & bobby pins.  Collectively, these two men have designed the faces of all the hottest stars to date… You may have seen the fierce mug of the man who designs faces of celebrities like... Gwen Stefani, Katy Perry, Cher, Fran Drescher, Anne Heche & Kerry Washington. Please welcome Gregory Arlt & Jon Lieckfelt!!!

"Pride means sitting in your truth and being courageous enough to inspire people with it…

You can't have pride if you have shame. Shame is the one thing that will keep you in your truth."

- Jon Lieckfelt

SHOW NOTES

QUESTIONS/TALKING POINTS

  • Gregory & Jon, what does Pride mean to you?

  • Our Cliterati are committed to cultivating self-love. Through your work, how do you allow a woman’s ‘true essence’ arise through your artistry? Because make-up and hair design is more than surface beauty.

  • So you’re here to tell us your coming out stories - who wants to go first? We are all ears!

  • We’ve been using this word a lot since Mikey B was on our show - VULNERAGEOUS. Being able to embody vulnerability courageously and communicate your truth. What advice do you have for our Cliterati that gave you the courage to speak out loud and proud?

    • Were you always this outspoken about your needs, desires and identity?

  • So here at Clit Talk, we are pleasure activists! We’ll try most anything once in the name of pleasure. What is currently in your daily/weekly/monthly routine that has you stay turned on?

  • So after watching Jon’s LieckMinded Episode Three: PUSSYBOWS YouTube video, I have to tell you, it made me really want to embrace this boss bitch look. I love how you say fashion is not gender specific, no matter how you identify. Can you tell us more about this?
