What does gender identity mean? What is transgender? What's ok and not ok? How do I support someone?
Thank you to our very first trans guest, who shall remain anonymous, we have unearthed so much authentic knowledge about what this gender conversation is really all about. It has been said that the best way to learn is through the sharing of experience. Well Cliteratti, we have one hell of a story for you. This is an essential conversation that many people do not fully understand.
“Knowledge is Power.” — Francis Bacon
Negative message from society has made it extremely difficult for those grappling with gender identity. As a man, there is a fear of being bullied for not being “man-enough.” This runs way deeper than being called a pussy at school. Our identity defines who we are and how others define us, and ultimately what they think about us. I think it’s safe to say, that our society makes it pretty fucking impossible for the majority of people to see gender identity from a nonjudgemental place.
We’re told not to care about what other people think, yet, as human beings, self-esteem is fundamental to our human nature.
If it’s part of our biology it’s f***ing important to our health and well being.
